Short Term Rentals in Skyland Estates

There is no HOA in Skyland Estates and therefore no restrictive covenants related to short-term rentals.  A property owner wishing to use his/her property for a short term rental must obtain a conditional use permit from Warren County.

Upon receipt of the application, the Warren County will request input and/or a recommendation from the Skyland Community Corporation's Board of Directors regarding the application.  The Board is very cautious when it comes to making a recommendation in support of such short term rentals because of the potential negative impact on our community and our limited resources/recourse should issues arise.  Absentee owners (those who do not intend to occupy the property offered as a short term rental are not looked upon favorably and are much less likely to receive an approval recommendation.

If you are a property owner in Skyland Estates who wishes to use your property as a short-term rental, SCC recommends you attend a meeting (typically the first Wednesday of each month at 7:00 pm in the library at 640 Bifrost Way - see calendar for dates) to discuss your plans.
